Puncture-proof tyres for the Shoprider Cadiz arrived yesterday and are now fitted on the scooter. Great value and service.
Here's a time-saving tip from my mechanic...
When fitting the tyres you will probably need slightly longer bolts to 'nip' the rims on to the tyres. The original bolts may not be long enough. Once the two rims are squeezed tight together on each tyre, you can remove the longer bolts and re-fit the original ones. Longer bolts of the same diameter can be obtained from B&Q. But you may have suitable bolts lying around. They are actually 'machine screws' having threads all the way up to the heads. Remember to tighten the bolts 'diagonally' to spread the load on the centre hub.
Now I can rest easy knowing that glass, nails and thorns are never going to be problems again. It's bye-bye to punctures with these wonderful tyres at the best price on the Net. And I have to say that there's no tangible difference in ride quality compared to the old pneumatic tyres. I can highly recommend these products.
